FF2 is slow
I upgraded to Firefox 2.0 the other day and it’s beyond slow. Pages that take under a second to load in Safari take up to 30 seconds to load in Firefox.
It seemed ok at first but then it kept crashing repeatedly for no reason and has been slow ever since.
Anyway, it’s driving me nuts. Ugh!

Same symptoms here. The worst part is that it means losing trust in what was previously a robust and elegant application after a few instances of losing unsaved information in web forms.
An altogether more sinister theory, of course, is that the frequent crashing really shows off the useful new resume tabs feature.

Ok, I think it is solved: It was the Google Toolbar that disagreed with Firefox 2 and somehow caused it to crash. I have uninstalled the Google Toolbar and Firefox hasn’t crashed on me in days.

Thanks for the info. I’m back to FF 1.5.0.8 for now.

I can assure that FF2 crashes are not (only) due to google toolbar as it’s spread over several places, because mine crashes 99% of the time (I’m using IE now because I can’t stand it), and I don’t and never had google toolbar installed, nor do I have a lot of extensions, etc.
I’ll look for v1.5.0.8 now, hope I can find it because v2 is a nightmare.
