MobileMonday Germany is live!

Great news for the mobile community in Germany: MobileMonday Germany

Welcome to MobileMonday – the global community for mobile professionals.

MobileMonday is about promoting the mobile industry and fostering cooperation and networking among industry people and their companies, by providing opportunities to meet colleagues face-to-face and virtually. The focus of the organization is networking events, which are normally held on the first Monday of every month.

MobileMonday started in Finland in September 2000 and has since spread to over 30 chapters throughout the world, in the US, Europe, Asia and Australasia. The working language is English to reflect this international spirit and events are mainly held in English too.

You can find more information about the parent organization here, as well as catching up with industry news and information.

MobileMonday Germany aims to replicate the movement’s success and will be holding networking events in Munich and Dusseldorf on alternate months. Other cities may follow and if you’re interested in starting another MobileMonday, please get in touch by using the contact information above.

The events are typically split into two parts. The first part of the evening features 3 or 4 short presentations from speakers about a theme chosen for the evening. This is followed by the opportunity to network with the speakers and other attendees.

We’re looking forward to meeting you all and taking the mobile industry into the exciting times ahead.

I’m glad to see this moving forward (I was briefly in touch with two members of the founding team earlier this year). I’ve been to a couple of MobileMondays here in the Bay Area, which were both very good quality, and I hope the German community will embrace this new opportunity for idea exchange.

The first two events will be held in Dusseldorf (December 4) and Munich (February 7). MobileMonday Germany is looking to expand into other cities as well. If you are working in the mobile sector, just make yourself heard.
