I’m so rooting for Ghana now that they have advanced to the second round of the world cup. They are the underdogs, sure, but what struck me most was the fact that I don’t really know anything about them. Nothing. Zilch. Do you? Ok, Ghana is located somewhere in Western Africa. But other than that I’m ashamed to admit I don’t know a lot about the country, the people, the history or their relations with the rest of the world.

What I do know is they seem to enjoy their performance in the world cup so far (as seen on this short video on YouTube): Ghanaian Fans

Note to self: Give Africa some respect. Brush up on the basic facts. Read a book maybe. Start here.
